Finishing the skirt

The skirt

To strengthen the base and to provide a surrounding of the floor-boards a skirt is installed.
The corners are dovetailed, but tails & pins vice versa ... so this would be an almost undestructable construction.
To make it really, really strong, wooden nails (4 through the long sides and 3 through the short sides) hold the skirt in place even when the glue should fail (in 200 years?). 4 smaller woodnails hold the pins and so the whole thing would hold together even without any glue :-)
